While I was struggling, I found it hard to meet up with one of my pregnant friends. You know that friend who’s pregnancy bothers you more than the others because it happened so easily?
I was making up excuses for why we couldn’t meet. Thinking it would be a massive trigger. That I wouldn’t be able to hold it together without having an emotional breakdown.
Then I learnt how to switch my focus in any situation away from feeling overwhelmed. I could choose to think about something better. So much power and confidence came from knowing I could choose what to take notice of and how to feel.
After that I could meet up with her and really look forward to it. I could talk to her about what was going on which felt like a huge weight lifted.
What harmful stories are you holding onto? Could they be holding you back?
Sometimes these out of date messages can get stuck. Your subconscious hasn’t caught up and still thinks pregnancy isn’t what you want. Or that it’s something you fear so dangerous and best avoided.

This was the biggest shift for me. Letting go of the fear that another pregnancy would end in miscarriage. I could allow myself to hope for the future I wanted. I didn’t realise I was holding onto that fear until it was gone.
